LOL at how late this reply is. Yes, Call My Name is a Calvin track. I like it though. I mean, I would have preferred for her to not have worked with him, in an ideal world, but it’s a good track, so whatever.
I so badly wish the vid director was Rich Lee though. Seriously. I hope to god Anthony Mandler has broke the habit of a lifetime and shot a video that’s interesting. I mean, visually he’s brilliant but god, when would you ever want to watch his work multiple times?
When you’re trying to go to sleep, that’s when.
Okay this is part 2 to this…
Um… idk if I get your point about her still singing all the OOTB hits. Like… she’s only got two albums of material - she has to sing the OOTB hits to flesh out a setlist.
But like, you’re familiar with pop music, right? Artists change tack all the time. Girls Aloud from Sound Of The Underground era are so far removed from the Girls Aloud that released Out Of Control, just for example. Evolution of image has to happen - it’s what makes pop music so much more exciting to follow than indie boys in jeans and t-shirts for release upon release until the end of time. The truth is that she’s 26 (or is she 27?? Bad fan…) and how long can she play the Lolita spin before it reaches the end of its shelf life? Yes, the blue wig will be gone, but did you expect her to be wearing it forever?
